Get involved and shape your campus

Overview

Campus Heart is the University's development programme to build our community of students and staff right in the centre of our university.

As part of this, Senate House is being transformed into the welcoming heart of our university, with a new two-floor food court and places to meet and relax for staff, students and our local community. To build this, we need to remove three trees from the courtyard this autumn, to avoid the nesting period for birds.

We will replace the trees with tree species of equivalent importance on campus.

Why We Are Consulting

We are consulting with students and staff to find out what you would like to create with the wood from the trees and we will work with partners to create the most popular design.

We have a few options -

  • The wood could be used to create a bench, table, or chair.

  • Perhaps you'd like to see art created from the wood, to be displayed on campus.

  • The wood could be donated to a partner organisation in the city.

  • Or maybe you have other ideas. How would you like the wood to be used?

Please give us your thoughts and ideas.

What Happens Next

Thank you for giving us your views. We'll look at all the responses, find out which one is most popular.
